Expansion Downloads

This page features larger, pre-packaged, unofficial expansions for Epic Duels.  Each of the expansions below contain multiple decks and/or maps.  Some of them are intended to be used along with the original Hasbro game, while others are meant to exist as stand-alone games inspired by the Epic Duels system.  If you'd like to make some contributions to the wiki, please read this first.

Star Wars Expansions:

  • 10 Year Anniversary Fan Expansion: This is a collection of some of the most familiar characters and best available custom decks, as voted on in collaboration by members of the Epic Duels Forum in 2012, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the release of Epic Duels.  The 12-deck set includes Lando, Qui-Gon, Tarkin, Jabba and other familiar characters, plus maps.

  • 20 Year Anniversary Fan Expansion:  In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Epic Duels, in 2022 and 2023 members of the Epic Duels Discord collaborated to bring together the best available custom decks for new characters to the Star Wars universe.  This 12-deck set includes Rey, Finn & Poe, Kylo Ren, the Mandalorian, and many other iconic characters of the new era, along with several new maps.

  • Expanded Universe ("EU") Expansion: The EU expansion is a fan-based, collaborative community expansion.  It was designed by the members of the Epic Duels Forum, and the discussion and work on the project has been preserved there.  The 14-deck set includes EU staples like Kyle Katarn and Exar Kun, other EU characters plus some KOTOR characters, plus maps.  Get them all in VASSAL here

  • Knights Of The Old Republic ("KOTOR") Expansion: This is a collection is focused on the legends characters out of the two very successful and beloved video games and book adaptation known under the name of Knights of the Old Republic (KotoR) and Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords (KotoR II - TSL). The 12-deck set includes beloved characters like Revan, Bastila and "The Exile" Metra Suurik.

  • The Originals - Remastered/Tweaked - The 12 base decks from the original game remastered with new images. Includes unaltered, 10YA Tweak, and Geektopia Tweak versions. By isutton007 in collaboration with BMLDesigns.

Deck Analysis for Expansions

  • Analysis for the Originals, 10YA, and 20YA.

Other Star Wars Expansions (Works In Progress)

  • The Originals (UNDER CONSTRUCTION): Work in progress. all of these decks include tweaks... most are Geektopia's some are my own recreated by BMLDesigns.

  • The Clone Wars (UNDER CONSTRUCTION): This set is inspired by the animated TV Show Star Wars: The Clone Wars and is supposed to represent the characters as closely as possible as they are portrayed in that show. Also all the artwork used is based of the animated series.

  • The Comedy Set (UNDER CONSTRUCTION): This set combines the best "joke" decks from all of SWED.

All the "off site links" take me to a page that doesn't exist anymore. Is there an updated link?

Roman F said

Can you be more specific as to which links aren't working? More likely, I'll be removing links rather than updating them. Epic Duels once had many sites dedicated to it but few of them are still being maintained.

The ones by Robert Moore.

The LOTR one as well.

I think Robert is done with Epic Duels. I can ask him if any of his Batman/DC materials are available if anyone wants them.

I don't see any problems with the LOTR link.

Seems like the dropbox links aren't working anymore. Ever thought about sharing the decks right here as direct downloads?

PSA: Yahoo! groups have been on the decline for years, and now Yahoo! accounts have been hacked, I believe this includes ALL of them. I have lost faith in Yahoo! and its groups to stand the test of time and have ported all my LOTR stuff to my blog. If you've been keeping your materials on a Yahoo! groups site, you also might consider making arrangements to move your content elsewhere. I believe there is plenty of room here on the Wiki.

Is there any interest in an original trilogy set/ expansion? could include Hasbro decks or just complete set of customs. Got a rough idea just want to know if there is interest.

umondy said

Already did one for our group but you are welcome to do your own and post it here. I would preffer leaving out the Original12 as they already form a set of decks.

MAybe I'm crazy but anybody interested in an expansion for the expansion EPIC SPACE BATTLES? I love the concept and idea but there are still so many legit spacecrafts/cahracters waiting for their own deck: General Grievous, Dash Rendar, Darth Maul, Wedge Antilles, Asajji Ventress, Prince Xizor, Talon Karrde and maybe even Grandadmiral Thrawn.

There are many Non-Star Wars expansions. I haven't played any of them so I am curious what are your favorite decks or deck concepts out of those expansions?

Avatar Duels: favorite decks are Ty Lee and Kyoshi Warriors; solid set overall if a bit overpowered compared to the base set.

Game of Thrones: Sophists set is solid even if still under construction. Daenerys, Stannis, and Joffrey are my favorites.

JAG's Comic Book Duels: every deck is amazing and a masterpiece. But seriously, they're fine except for Bane, which is a design I'm still proud of.

Lord of the Rings Epic Duels: is some of the best custom material in all of Epic Duels; every deck is well designed, extensively tested, and fun. Favorites are Aragorn, Legolas, Witch King, Eomer, and Thorin.

Super Hero Epic Duels: Darth Wolverine has done a great job in making a solid stand alone set, with each deck being a single character with custom basic decks. Many decks are based on previous existing decks usually to great effect. My favorites are Batman, Deathstroke, and Killer Frost.

Mortal Kombat Epic Duels: overall, this is a solid set that pushes Epic Duels in new directions. Each deck has 34 cards and a fatality card that ties into the "bloodied" mechanic. While Nikgamer avoids many of the pitfalls of deck makers unfortunately too much direct damage and too many similar cards bring the set down a bit. Plus many of the decks are OP relative to normal Epic Duels and each other. Favorite decks are Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Kano.

Serenifly: I've never played any of these, but I think Jubal Early is a solid single character design and should be an inspiration for makers of single character decks.

Fantasy Set: Really interesting ideas and cool cards, but too much defense and not enough offense and movement bring down the quality of this set. Best decks are Fairy and Ghost, but Slimes and Time Traveler are the most interesting IMO.

This is a great list. I've played Avatar, which is great, I especially love the Aang and Prince Zuko decks. I've also played Serenifly and I think the decks are very good, though I can't remember which particular decks I liked best. It's a good set overall, to be played within itself, IMO, as are most of the others mentioned.

I'm very impressed with Sophist's GOT set but I've never actually played it. I've never played Mortal Kombat but I used to love the game and am intrigued by the 34 card decks since we've been talking about an expanding version of Epic Duels...

Thanks Roman. About MK, you know I've always meant to make a full post about this set, but decided not to because I thought no one would be interested. Might get on that now. Anyway, in point of fact the decks don't all have 34 cards; like the Transformers set they all vary in number with the fewest being 32 and the most being 35 and 34 is the average.

Since all the extra cards are Talent Cards this means the decks can show off more moves, but it also means that the toughest decks are even stronger because they have more killing power. I think it also contributes to the "too much direct damage" problem.

Umondy: You're welcome! Yeah, unfortunately the Avatar set was stored on the Epic Duels site so unless someone has it stored somewhere it might be gone for good. I personally don't have it. Text versions are still available at the forums, but I know some are out of date.

DW: I'll admit I've only played through half the decks (but when there's 40+ can you blame me?), but I've had good experience with the ones I have played. I might comment on some of the individual decks which I think could use a few tweaks (like Ares) at a later date.

Thanks for the extended list. Already took a peak on some of them. There actually is no working link to the Avatar Expansion and I can't find it anymore at Dorkistan's site either. Any suggestions or can somebody upload it here please?

Does anyone actually have a link to the Avatar expansion anymore? It's been dead for a long time. =/

Also, I'm glad you're enjoying my Super Hero stuff!

All of my DC Superhero Epic Duels material that was previously published here has been moved to my site to make more room for Star Wars decks. In addition to containing all the PDFs for printing, the website is designed much like Geektopia with detailed looks at every deck that I've playtested.

Marvel will be joining the website soon. Happy deck making everyone!

The page history says it was you. I had actually been wondering the same thing myself.

umondy said

at 1:00 pm on Dec 7, 2019

Okay, that is what I remembered. I was frustrated as the set was not as cohesive as it should be. I deceided to take it down until I find the time to redo all the decks in one look, using only graphics from the TV show and not the actual movies. Maybe I even will go with the short TV show that featured awesome characters like Durge and Woolfiv Monn.

I am new to the Chat. I was wondering if anyone considered making a Cara Dune Character deck? you can do her and Greef Karga or Cara and Mando

umondy said

Don't know those characters but I would say: DO IT! :D

Roman F said

at 2:27 pm on Jul 26, 2020

This isn't really the right page to discuss that, but as far as Cara Dune, I encourage you to go for it. Maybe I'll be so inspired after Season 2 to make a deck for her, but I'm not right now. I don't have enough ideas on what she does, or what she says, or how she would win a fight against someone tough.
